THE SCREENING COMMITEE

The Screening committee is appointed by the President with approval by the Board of Trustees. *( See Note below). This Committee will review and recommend individuals/teams which in turn will be reviewed by the Trustees. To advance to the Trustees an individual or team must receive five affirmative votes from the Screening Committee. If an individual/ team does not receive a single affirmative vote for three consecutive years (0-21) that person’s candidacy is suspended for five years after which time he/she may again start the process of being reviewed by a screening committee. There is no limitation on the number of years a person may be considered for Enshrinement by the screening committee unless that person does not receive a single vote for three consecutive years.

* NOTE
The initial make up of the seven member Screening committee will serve for three years starting on January 1, 2005. At the end of those three years three members will be replaced by three new members starting on January 1, 2008. The remaining four members will be replaced on January 1, 2011 and this rotation shall continue every three years (three members, four members, 3, 4, etc. The president of the OBHOF shall serve as an ex-officio member of this committee.
