MIDDLETOWN "MIDDIES" WONDERS 1956 - 1958
The road to victory began in 1944 when The Middies won a first state crown under Royner Green. Over the next decade, The Middies claimed five state titles.
1956-57-58 proved to be the most notable seasons for The Middies with Jerry Lucas dominating the court. Heading into the finals of the Ohio Class AA high school basketball championships. The Middies, led by Coach Paul Walker had gone an impressive 76 games without a defeat.
