DICK HEMPY
Dick Hempy of Otterbein College was the National Player of the Year for Division III schools in 1987. He was a three time All-American in 1986-1987-1988. His coach, Dick Reynolds, said “Dick can shoot, block shots from the line, create the turnover and convert steals – and he does all those things best when the pressure’s on.” There are other coaches in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) who agree. “He’s the kind of player who wins for you in tough situations” said Jim Burson late last season. “He’s done it over a long period of time, which is a sign of an All-American – and he’s done it when it counts.
